headlights won't work (not a simple solution)
OK here's the deal. The headlights were on adn then shut off and went into the down position. They won't pop up unless I use the overide button, and in no case will they turn on. I've replaced the fuse (all of them). Any other ideas?

Do you have the stock alarm system. It is possible the the retractor signal from the alarm ECU has failed.
Also, you might have a burnt relay. |
Your headlight switch may also be bad.

If you're standing in front of the car and looking at the engine, look to your right where the fuses are. There will be ONE relay there. That is the one that you will need to replace. I had the EXACT same thing happen... |
The relay being the one in the top fuse box or the one by the four relays attached to the green metal bracket. Thanks

Cool, thanks for the help. Just to be sure you are talking about the black plastic one? It doesn't have anything else that looks like it anywhere near it. Thanks

Thanks ...either way, it's the ONLY relay within that vicinity. When you take the cover off, it should be a green relay(I'm looking at it right now....it's sitting next to my computer)...that's the color that my bad one was either way. ...To get your car running though, you could put your head lights up, then go and take the retractor relay out and replace the bad one with that one. |
I finally got it. I (see my pic under moron in dictionary) tried to move some wires around last month and forgot to put it back in place. So when I got the car wet the dam thing was upside down and tucked away and got wet. Thanks for the help.

Thread revival, I came across this same issue yesterday. Can anyone tell me what this relay is called or where I can find it? Thanks

Thank you, mine isn't located there anymore which is why I had a hard time understanding what they were talking about. You're a good man
