Headlights not Working
 

The manual button will flip the headlights on, but the headlight switch will not. Also the high beams don't work or the regular beams, but the passing lights to without flipping the headlights up. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on. All the relays and fuses have been checked that I've see on the car. Main Fuse block next to the battery, Main Relay box next to the battery, Relay box under the factory intake cover, and the fuse block under the dash. Any other place I should look?

hey bud, maybe or not this helps. my radiator pipe/core ruptured on my first fd. had mazda install new radiator and the dash button would flip the lights up, but not the other rotary dial stick. the lights still worked though. i liked it because then i could turn on my lights with them flipped down and it would light up the lower oil cooler ducts. it looked phat. sorry that didnt help you, just my experience.

There is a headlight relay right next to the bigger relay box on the drivers side strut tower. Check it out, you can use a fan relay (3 of the 4 fan relays are the same as the headlight relay) to swap it out and verify if it is that relay. The relay is in a rubber cover just like the fan relays.

The same thing happened to me just 3 nights ago. Made a hard left... and the lights went out. No high beam, low beam, and no response from the retractor either. Checked the fuses... and they were fine. Then I checked my wiring going to the headlights. Passenger side inner fender... discovered that my 18" rims plus Eibach springs had caused the inner liner to wear a whole and directly into the wiring harness... I discovered that a total of NINE, yes NINE wires were broken. I reconnected all NINE... and shiet... now my turn signals are back, but my headlights still didn't work... so I was like shitt'n bricks. Checked the driver's side inner fender liner... and there was only one wire broken. Patched that up... and BINGO... that was the one wire that went to the headlights. Now I'm left wondering what those nine wires that I reconnected did.

I doubt the same is the case for you, but if all else fails... check the wires. Good luck to you!

It helps alot to have this forum, because obviously Mazda doesn't know their @ss from a hole in the ground with these cars. LOL.... Anyway, the engine fuse blew, and I thought I got all the wires that were rubbed by the bracket fixed, but I'm going to check that again. Then the relays. Thanks for the info on the relays.
