headlight problem...searched extensively
Sorry guys but I can't find my answer through searching. The headlights are stuck open and will not turn on. The retractor button on the dash is not pushed in. When I turn the headlights on the parking lights come on fine, along with the taillights, but the headlights dont work. The high beams dont work either. I replaced the head and retractor fuse. I switched out the headlight relay with a cooling fan relay. I switched the retractor relay with the tns relay and still nothing. The high beams do not work, the high beam indicator on the dash does not come on. Any help guys? I am frickin lost.

i had a similar problem except mine got stuck down with all the exact same symptoms you have. mine was a broken ground wire in the main body harness. i just re grounded the headlight switch in the car and has worked fine since. you may need some electrical troubleshooting experience to make sure though.

no blown fuses ? You don't realy give us much to go on.....have you tried the flash to pass Hi- low beam ? ? ? ? Did the lights come on when they raised up then quit ? If you want help you have to give information or your fix will be as general as the question. Have you downloaded the FSM to see what it says ?

Sorry. Flash to pass does not work. The lights did not come on when they raised up. Imluvinit, I will try that later today. Are you referring to the switch on the steering column as the headlight switch? Just trying to clarify. Thanks.

i think its a grounding problem get a wiring diagram and see were the headlight ground is check it out and make sure that there is a good contac.....if there a good contac u can do a voltage drop test and that will tell u if u have a broke wire somewhere....do the voltage drop test on the ground and power side! check fuses and relays

Thanks for the advice guys. Let me make sure that I read this right. In the manual I read it that the headlight relay gets power from the red wire after the head fuse. Is that right? I am not getting power to the headlight relay in any way. I'm starting to think that somehow I'm not getting power after the head fuse. I'll take another crack at it tomorrow. Thanks.

UPDATE. I wasn't getting power to the headlight relay. The HEAD fuse was fine. This is why I was so confused. Anyway, I ran a wire from the head fuse to the power side of the headlight relay and everything works fine now. Thanks for everyone's advice.
