headlight issues

ive searched and searched on this problem. turn headlight switch on and nothing happens(not even marker lights or tail lights). pull stick back for high beams and the headlights go up and turn on.

everyone said that its the headlight relay. so finally a ran outside and noticed my relay plug was pretty busted up and covered in electrical tape. possible success imminent. pull off remaining of busted up plug and relay, pull out the multi meter and find what is what.

confident that all my pins are in their proper locations, i flip the switch and nothing happens but pull stick back and lights swing up and high beams come on. still same problem.

unplug relay and jump the headlight to the power source and lights come up and turn on but still no markers or tails.

any ideas beyond this? my electrical skills are not very good but i can usually muddle through the easier stuff.

thanks for the help. id really like to get this worked out so i can register the car and drive it this season

Bypassing the relay is JUST for the headlights, the running lights are on a different circuit.

Have you checked all your fuses? Do your interior lights work?

so more info on this.

with the help of a friend, i started chasing wires and determined that the column switch was probably faulty.

i replaced the switch and now have minor success. with the first click, the marker lights and interior lights come on. second click still no headlights but they rotate up and push the stick forward gives me high beams.

still no tail lights but i do have brake lights.

well spent a few minutes last night to start chasing tail light wiring.
step 1. attempt to remove tail light.
step 2. break tab that holds tail light in place.
step 3. remove tail light.
step 4. go wtf when you see every single wire is clipped including brake light but its crimped back together?
step 5. twist wires together to test if lights come on.

success.

now i have to solder and heat shrink wires and my lighting is finally sorted out.
