Crappy pics...but u can see how much its off...any info here pretty quick be appreciated guys...finishin the outside today and this is the only thing left on the inside
|
I'd have to go outside and look at mine but I think you need to turn the bracket facing up instead of down (unbolt it, flip it 180 degrees)
|
Yeah that's all it is, your brackets are facing down instead of up like they should be.
|
Fml....i looked at the manual 20x thinkin it was that....but the manuals looked face down...shoulda just tried it...thanks fellas

From the pictures, it doesn't look like you can turn them 180 degrees. You may have to swap the struts from one side to the other.

You can turn them. The bracket is mounted and spins freely a full 360 degrees.
Here's a pic of bracket as it would be installed down vs installed up. |
You are correct. I couldn't see that it spun around in the first picture .............. and I didn't remember from when I replaced my hatch struts years ago :)
|
Yeah bad hatch shocks are fun. Give yourself a workout military pressing the hatch open, then balancing it on your head while you dig around in the back

When the old struts would not hold, I bought a small piece of 3 sided aluminum, and cut it to the length of the extended strut piston. I would open the hatch, and slide the aluminum into place. It worked very well.
