Has anyone purchased a FD w/ 100k+ miles?

Has anyone purchased a FD w/ 100k+ miles? How long did it last before new rebuild.. yeah i kno it depends on the last owner.. but from your experience.. is it worth to buy a FD wit 100k+ and try to maintain it?

Purchase, No.
Own, Yes.

102,000 and still going (second engine).

I bought mine with 117k miles with a dead engine. I wanted to build the engine to my spec so I didn't have to worry about a bad engine.

100k on the chassis isn't that bad if the car has been maintained. Especially down in Florida where the roads are better than up here in the NE. 100k on a motor is a bit much and I would definitely leave room in the price for a rebuild.

In summary, it is worth it if everything else on the car is good and the price is right.

I bought mine with 168k for $7000, drove it for abt 7k, blew the engine, then put another in. Ive owned 3 3rd gen rx7s, and my new one is in just as good of shape as the lower mileage cars.
I now have about $12000 in my car(including purchase price) totally modded, with wheels too

mines done 160,000 but had a rebuild 25,000 ago, apart from the engine I have found that suspension and bushings were the only things that need attention, I was lucky the previouse owner was a real grandma of a driver.

Bought mine with 96K in great condition, great interior, an all the receipts throughout it's 10year history so I could see every oil change, lube job, and tune up it had - and all were done at the dealer! As for the engine, I think it's in good shape but it does have an oil leak and I suspect the engine will need a rebuild but considering how increadable the rest of the car was I bought it anyway. This way, after I rebuild and mod the engine and parts, it will be quicker and more reliable than it was before. And the best part - after I drop all the $$ I want into it, it will not only smoke many a car but still cost less then something new off the showroom floor today!! ($10K price tag, $25K total est. with mods)
