I've heard of the company Phil, but never used any of their products. The mount looks like it's pretty decent, kinda like the widefoot mounts but lower to the ground and with no extra bracing.

Ok, with Dave (Widefoot) still making mounts why would you want to consider anything else? ;)

Dave is still making them? I emailed and Pm'd him.. Just waiting to hear back.

What sway bars do most people use with his mounts?

Scrub 02-01-07 10:35 AM

I'm using the Racing beat sway bar and it works just fine for me....but if you want to go nuts you can use the adjustable sway bars from tri point... I think thats who makes it. Unless you do regular track events it's not necessary though. Wide foot is definatly the way to go if it's in your budget.

Thanks Dan!

I thought about getting the tri point sways... But they are little pricey. I'm now hitting myself for not getting on the GB on the mounts back when, but if Dave still makes them, I'll go ahead and get it.

Herblenny 02-01-07 10:44 AM

Does Tripoint still make the swaybars? I don't see it on their website? It replaces the end links correct?

I don't believe he has stopped. However, he usually does "batches". I bought one of his extra sets over the summer. I think it took a few days for David to get back to me through email, but he did. ;)

Most people just get the Racing Beat bars as they are inexpensive and readily available. However, the more 'racey' choice are the Tripoint bars. I know that in the past for one of the Tripoint bars, there needed to be a "work around" for them to be installed with the Widefoot mounts (back in '02 timeframe). I don't know if that is still an issue but I'm sure David can comment on that.

Yes, but you have to email them.

How come Japanese companies always have such finky names? Not now. SUPER now.

Thanks Kyle!

I just read the info about Tri point and widefoot mounts. I guess I'll just stick with RB and widefoot if Dave get back to me.

I've already order the stock replacement for now. But I also found out my end links on the sways are bad. Hence I was thinking Tripoint.

Herblenny 02-01-07 12:04 PM

I just got an email from Tripoint..

Here is the info on price and such..

The Front swaybar is $550.00 which comes with torsion tube (sizes from
.095/.188 or .250) We also offer a front brace support w/ bronze bushing for
$175.00

Our Rear swaybar is tubular (2-hole) adjustable for $149.99 and matches well
with the .188 front torsion tube.

Unless you are going to turn the car into a super hardcore track car, the stock sway bars with upgrade mounts will be just fine. ;)

Contact Ramy on those SuperNow mounts - I'm almost positive he can get them.

I made my own for less than $40 in materials, and that included having a shop laser cut the mounting plates.

How much are those Mazdatrix sway bar mounts? Their website doesn't seem to be working?

$200 for the set. I think the widefoot mounts are about the same?

No, I think the Widefoots are a little more expensive, but worth it:

https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-20/pics-widefoot-spacers-return-front-swaybar-stock-level-447217/

Also, for those people who like to list their mods, they get to use cool words like "Billet". :)

For the billet version, yes you are correct pricing was higher. I do believe he made a cast version that was right around $200 though. I think the billet mounts were a bit over $300.

Herblenny 02-02-07 12:32 PM

I post the pricing on my blk fd build..

David wrote me back last night and said, $260 for billet (I bought the last set)

and 195 for cast. He said he had several cast ones.
