I remember seeing one that cliped onto the E-Brake console. Who makes them?

Try rotorhead.ca they carry a stereo surround for the 84-85 1st gens that has a slide-out dual cup-holder tray.

I remember someone using old 80's or 90's Taurus DIN sized cup holders. They install into a standard DIN under or above radio, and they slide out with two cup holders and a change holder. I might do this.

i made one. very easy to fabricate. bought the cupholder at http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=77830 . ill try to have a pic posted of it later.

I have the one that is clipped on the side of the center console by the e-brake. Im not too sure if its an option from the factory or what, but I like it.

Drive around the movie theatre, I am sure you will be able to pick one up :)

There was a thread a couple of months ago about this. Its also on Robinette's site. Thread was titled something like "Seriously now I need a cup holder".

Email Marc at cardmarc@charter.net. He has them for $50. He uses the one in the link above from Griots and makes a custom bracket for it.

A friend of mine cut a whole on the center panel tunnel(at the elbow level when sitting in the car) and glue in a speaker bass port.
These speaker bass ports come in different sizes and all you have to determine is how big or small of a cup you want it hold.
Looks good to him and to reach it is a little bit hard.
I personally don't like it, but to each his own.
His cost was like $4 bucks for the bass port from what I recall.

wow... I wonder if they actually sell any of those $150 cupholders?

An FD should not have a cup holder. What happens when you boost?

Under Installations they have "Mazda RX-7" but the link is missing they just have a link for Hummer... but it Looks like it'll take care of the Boost problem you speak of since it's hinged and would swing to even out the gravitationl pull.. unless your turbo is measured in "Warp" Numbers... but then you have a whole different set of problems to worry about Cpt. Kirk ! :rlaugh:

I'll second the Cardmarc unit, as I have one too.
While they may be simple to make, by the time you figure it out, buy the parts, etc, you may save a few bucks, but If Marc has any it may be worth just getting his, no muss, no fuss. Plus you can throw it it one of the bins outta' the way any time you want, no permanent attachments.
