Has anyone ever heard of, or tried JVM Power Seals Apex Seals?

Here is the link to the site: JVM Performance Depot

They also have viton coolant and oil control rings as well, very well priced, they claim to have a large amount of rotary guys running them with up to 1200hp and they have similar benefits of not grenading the housing/rotor upon failure, and they are gentle on housings as well!

I am asking because I am planning on using this stuff on a new build, but there is little to no feedback about the seals or the company on this forum!!!

Anyone???

boosted414 04-23-13 11:15 AM

oooh, good question. Seems most people go with goopy, ALS, and RA super seals or classics.

Max_Spd 04-23-13 11:28 AM

Yup, these guys seem, new but from what i was told, are making 600-1200 hp motors reliable on the drag strip, even met one of the guys using them for building motors and such. The material is also different then what others are using, its not a steel but an billet material if I am not mistaken, making the actual seal lighter! Would be a great contender for the big boys, the PR guys are running them and loving it with 50psi of boost and 200mile trap speeds.

Bump for knowledge!!! :o

Max_Spd 05-31-13 12:42 PM

All you rotary drag guys, ask each other for this info!!!

allrotor93 05-31-13 02:57 PM

Oem is way behind the times. There is no need to "try" something else when there are better options out there. Just roll with ALS (from me :)) or goopy (from me lol)

Power Seals are billet apex seals for drag racing application...Using for the most fastest car in Puerto Rico and USA....Home Page

Max_Spd 12-14-13 09:12 AM

But how do they stand up to street and daily driver use, what longevity can be expected?

steidel_team 12-14-13 09:23 AM

They have two version of seals one for drag racing application and other for daily use street use application..

So your gonna believe the site selling knock off bov's that their seals are the best

fastest guys run 1 of 3 seals Rxparts, ALS (now E&j) or the RA super seals
Any of which will be fine from mild to wild, I know hundreds of people with the super seals, I've ran the rxparts ones and they held up incredible even at a 55psi spike that broke the front stationary, and if I'm not mistaken the E&J were in the new gen car when it broke the wr. Price between all in minor, the rxparts include apex springs. Now I do recall hearing that Edgar had seals from everone taken to a metallurgist and then the ALS was created with a proprietary steel based on ideal metallurgy but I haven't spoken to Edgar directly about this

Max_Spd 12-14-13 02:30 PM

Bacon, agreed, the site is so primitive and little to no info on any of the products, It might as well be a drug deal transaction...you dont know enough about the product or the seller. Pricing is on the cheap side...

I for one had my RA Super Seals for a very long time in a car that is street driven and such and using premix, with used housings...I am still good...and there is a lot of backing of the seals by multiple members of the community/forum...which is how I was able to make my decision to go with them.

steidel_team 12-15-13 07:23 AM

Bacon, Call Edgar and speak with him...This seals are Not copy paste...Edgar is my friend.
They working ..and cheap price ...remember tested with the most fastest in the world...
The web site is like you said primitive..but the product is good .Does not have anything to envy anyone .. and we start from below with pride.

No disrespect intended, guess for all of us untill we know someone running something new were all skeptics. And since it's the base metal that makes them different it's a tough thing break into with other more well known varieties out there.

Guess at this day and age you would wish for people to list their metal mix, Rockwell # and stuff so people could make a decision based on the best metallurgy for their application. However I know that will never happen as the copy paste scares everyone

Personally I believe it's all in the tuning, a stronger seal sometimes can be 2 strong for a application where you want it to wear not the housing, for us racers we have cooler egt's than a streetcar and freshen a motor with less "miles" than your average streetcar puts on in a day

I'm actually looking forward to a set of recut seals as I've been having "hammering" of the edge of the springs and flattening them. The 2 piece eshaft is in my future, just need a bandaid for the bleeding wallet in the meantime.

I'm sure the longer their in the big boys motors and will gain fame and acceptance from there. It's nice to see that it's the apex seals that are in their motors, tooooo many companies promote that their "products" are in one of the cars when it's a oring kit, or something else in their line up. And I know many teams fear disclosing their seal choice as it can impact sponsorship from competing seals.
