Has anyone?

Hello,
Has anyone got the turbo running though the intercooler to make that cool sound instead of a blow off valve or waste gate?

Uhh, your kidding right?

You need help.

1) Turbo = turbine over which exhaust gas flows. The wastegate is a door that bypasses exhaust gas around the turbo to control how much the turbo spins. After the turbo the gas goes directly into the exhaust piping.

2) Compressor = impeller (looks a lot like the turbo) which takes air from the air intake and compresses it. This air flows into the engine, usually passing thru an intercooler to first cool the air for better combustion performance. The blow-off valve is right after the compressor and dumps off boosted air when you let off the throttle (the turbo/impeller take a moment to slow down, and the extra boost needs to go somewhere other than the engine).

Now think about that question again and see if you're making any sense. I suggest you learn more about these cars (and turbocharging in general) before you do anything beyond changing the oil and filters in the car.

You are talking about the compressor surge sound. There are debates as to whether BOV's are really neeeded or not. A lot of turbo race cars do not use them, however they are not concerned necessarily with the longevity of their parts.

If you use an aftermarket single, I would say that it's up to you whether or not to use a BOV. However, for the stock twins, they already have enough problems so I wouldn't add any more.
