Hard Starting after Nipondenso Fuel Pump Installation
 

I recently installed the 500hp capable Nipondenso Fuel Pump. Ever since then, if my car is warm it won't start on the first try. Usually the second, sometimes the third. It always starts, but rarely on try 1, it's just annoying.

Holding the key in run for a few seconds before cranking doesn't help, ie initial thoughts were LACK of fuel, so I thought giving the fuel pump a few seconds to build pressure might help. No such luck.

While talking to a few friends, I've heard that the Nipondenso pump is a dual voltage pump and during initial cranking if powered with the full 12v it will over pressurize ie almost flood the FD. Can anyone confirm this or care to comment?

Are there crank settings in the datalogit I can tweak to resolve this problem?

Good question, Id like to know this too.

Another possibility is that you have a leak inside the fuel tank (where the pump connects to the fuel line -- not an external leak) and the system depressurizes when you turn the car off.

Call up the folks at www.mzmperformance.com and ask for Mohammad. He was explaining all this mumbo jumbo about 12V this and relay that and you can't just bolt the fuel pump in. I just nodded my head like I knew what he was talking about and asked him to install it along with the Apexi single turbo, hehe.:D

i had a prob like that...my nippondenso blew out my fuel pressure regulator which caused it to leak...i replaced it...things are good.
