Hard to start and rough/low idle

:scared: I've had this problem for about a month now. I got my car back on the road after about a month of being down for the vaccum line job and a light tune-up; silicon lines, viton check valves, new pvc valve, fuel filter, plugs and wires, pulsation dampner, new injectors, a new 700amp battery, and some tlc. Now it seems that she's been hard to start I turn the key and have to crank her over for a few seconds before she turns over and I get to watch a nice cloud of unburnt fuel fill my apt complex. I replaced the spark plugs this passed weekend and did the de-flood procedure and she started up on the first try with out a hitch. While running she's kinda rough and rocks the car a bit and idles about 1300rpm to about 1600rpm, the after warm up she'll idle around 200-500rpm. I replaced the long metal (aluminum?) check valve with a plastic one from pep boys. I heard some talk of the clutch switch going bad and causing a rough idle, but causing it to hard start is a little odd to me. Any ideas?:scared:

could my ignition coils be going out?

This could be off base, but:

IIRC, the aluminum one is the PCV valve and has a bleed hole to allow some crankcase vapor to be sucked into the manifold. If you replaced that, there is no longer a bleed, and the idle would be lower and (maybe) richer.

You may need to replace the replacement with the proper unit.

Dave
