hard intake pipe
I would like to know what is the advantage of using an aluminium hard intake instead of a steel one. Is it only a question of wheight?
Is there a difference in the temperature that the air is going to be inside the pipe? I am thinking about doing my own "M2" pipe with mendrel bend exhaust pipe what do you think about that? puma |
I think the only big difference is gonna be weight. But with that small of a pipe even that will be neglegeable. I dont think that the intake temp will be effected much, If anything the charge may actually be cooler with a steel pipe. because the aluminum pipe would pick up more of the heat fom the engine bay. Due to better heat transfer properties.

that is what i thought too

If you are going to try to fab your own from steel, use thin wall conduit - Exhaust pipe is much too heavy and would require mounting brackets to keep it from banging around under the hood and damaging the intake box & turbo etc.
