Had my keys stolen, can I change the locks?

Someone broke into my house yesterday and stole alot of my stuff, among them were both keys to by FD. I'm getting a new one from local Mazda dealer, but just don't feel save knowing some asshole out there has the keys to my car. The dealer told me that they can't switch out the locks/ignition because there is no stock anywhere. He suggest that I take the car into them and have their locksmith re-key the locks and ignition, which would be ~$550. Does that seem right? Has anyone here had similar situation that they can give some suggestion or advice? Thanks.

It cost about the same for a lock set so you may as well have the dealer re key it.

I can sell you a door lock and hatch lock set with complete steering column and ignition key for 265 shipped.

Thanks,
Fritz

Fritz, the dealer had also offer to sell me just the door locks (at alot higher price), but I prefer to have one key. So, the re-key is probably my best bet if I want to change the key and have only one key. Do you know if the re-key needs to be done by a car dealer or can it be done by just a locksmith?

Lock smith won't re key a car for obvious reason.

However the only key difference you'll have if you buy my set up is the glove box.

You'll get complete steering column w/ ignition and key
both door locks
rear hatch lock
