grounding kit..
 

looking to get a grounding kit and re do factory grounds,just wondering if anyone nos if this kit is any good?Hyper Ground System: HG-000-02.thanks for any help

also kit looks a bit on the small side .is there not like 9 main grounding points?

I've found that you don't need a grounding kit. Just get 10 gauge primary wire and your basic wiring kit and go to town.

and if ur lazy and dont want to make them urself and want it cheap go to ebay!

I make my own using # 1 welding cable . battery to motor , motor to car frame ( sheet metal) motor to subframe .

You can get a cheap one that is nice and pretty on ebay if you don't want the did it yourself look. I wouldn't waste the cash on a high dollar "grounding system".

i rather create it my own.. where do i get gauge wire from?

get some 4 guage stereo battery from circuit city or best buy and make your own

just make your own... I would use at least 8 gauge wire though

why use 4 or why use 8, any diff effects?

was gonna make my own alright but i just read about the kit online and it sounded good,although you would have to also buy 2 of the kits.looked good too.when i make my own any ideas where id pick up sleves for the cables,would help with the finished look.thanks for all the replys

would it be a good idea to use 2x10 gauge for battery ground and 2x10 gauge chassis ground [ put 2 on each]and use 8 gauge for say the exhaust and trans grounds and the rest of the engine bay grounds?

I just posted on this last week and everyone acted like they had never heard of it. I'm glad this thread popped up.

oh and any imfo on the best place to ground the ecu would be great ,cant fine any imfo on that.thanks again

DarkLikePoe, I did the same thing with 10-gauge. This cable is too small (~60 amps) to be the only ground path, but I believe it's enough to supplement the OEM harness. Clean up the stock ground points while installing the extra cables, and the electrical system should be pretty happy. My car cranks MUCH more strongly than before.

Garco, #1! That will do the trick. Do you use stock wiring for battery to chassis?

goz, doubling a run moves you up 3 gauge sizes, so 2 x 10 = 7. I wouldn't want to put all of the starter's current through this, but it's a nice secondary path.
