Griffin stock-type radiator for the FD!?!

Griffin now has a drop-in radiator for the FD - neat! All aluminum, etc. Did a search on the forum, and I haven't seen mention of it. I have no idea what the realistic street price on the radiator is.

If you go to Griffin's site (http://www.griffinrad.com) and look under Import Radiators (or some such title) you'll find it.

Good to know we have another option on radiators :). Wonder if it actually fits worth a crap?

griffin.. from what i have herd is supposed to be better than koyo or fluidyne but i could be wrong

Their radiator is already on Jason's (RX7store.net) website, I'm also curious if Jason or anyone else had any experiences with them.

You're right - I haven't seen that. $399 is pretty decent, too.

I believe these are pretty accurate specs for the rads:

Fluidyne 1 row; 1-1/4" tubes; 2" overall; 17 fins/in
Mazda Comp 1 row; 1-1/4" tubes; 2" overall 18 fins/in
Koyo 2 row; 1" tubes, 3" overall? Fin count??
Griffin 2 row; 1" tubes, 3" overall 14 Fins/in
PWR 2 row; 1" tubes, 2-1/2" overall 17 Fins/in
CR Racing 2 row; 1" tubes; 3" overall 15 fins/in

Anways, my understanding is that the higher the fin count is better. But when you tak a thicker core, you would be better with a lower fit count so air pass through it better.

Plus they took and upside picture of the radiator. :D Looks like a great radiator at a competitive cost.

This is for my FD/LS1 or my 240Z/LS1 haven't decided which car I am doing the swap on. Its new all aluminum and will fit with a lot of modding. It has 5 - 1" rows. So what its overkill I Know. I am careful when it comes to cooling.

DAMN!!!!!! That is overkill! Better have some good ducting to help force all the air through...

Note, the $325/$375 buy-it-now price was for an overstock item.

He has the same radiator with some bent fins and tubes for $270. This is known as a Q2 (aka, lower quality) radiator.

So beware.
