GReddy Throttle Elbow & AWS
right now i have the stock elbow with the aws hooked up to it. i just bought the greddy elbow for my 93 rx7 and it does not have the opening for the aws hose to conect to. i was wondering if i could maybe put a small filter on the hose leading to the selenoid valve[accelerated warm-up system] and put the elbow on without having to drill into the greddy elbow just to connect that hose.
please let me know what i should do? |
i just plugged it..dont know if thats allowed or not but i havent had problems and its been like that for 5 months now..

yeah u can do that, or just plug the AWS. I made a block off plater for mine.

Just plug that sucker at the most basic. There's no good reason for the AWS save Mazda passing federal emissions cold start standards - it's totally useless.

Plug it. If you use a filter, you'll get oil misting all over the place.

Hmm...I have a filter on mine (looks like a minature K&N air filter w/ T-bolt clamp) and never (that I know of) seen any oil misting for months now. When I tried plugging the AWS hose originally, it would crank up and then immediately stall out. Cranking again...it doesn't stall next round.
Also, I disable the AWS each morning before work by clutch in and putting it in 1st and crank...can't bear that 15 seconds of 3K rev...::shiver:: |
