GReddy Standard Mount Intercoolers enough for my mods???
 

Greetings all,


I wish to upgrade my crappy stock intercooler for a larger unit. I am interested in the GReddy Standard Mount Intercoolers . Do you thing its enough for the
following mods:

-Downpipe
-Apex GT cat back
-Bonez cat
-Y-pipe
-PFC

I run 14 lbs of boost but I am easy on engine hot days.

Should I go front mount??? I like the standard mount because the installation is easy (Bolt on)

Any advice quys??

If this is all you ever want to run, then stick with the stock mount. I would rather get the M2 large myself, but that's a matter of opinion.

If you plan on eventually going bigger and badder and better...Start ahead of the game and get a FMIC.

you said you are running 14psi. If you don't have one (not listed in mods) I would invest in at least an aftermarket fuel pump.

But as far as intercoolers go. If you want a badass stock mount get an M2 large as jspec said. Why not get the biggest stock mount you can get. The intercooler is a beast, it will cost you more than a FMIC. 1500 new plus the Greddy throttlebody elbow (100) and you will have to relocate the battery. I would personally just post in the parts wanted/for sale section of the forum and try and get a used one. As soon as I can get some money together I am going M2 large. So if money is an objective and you want a big IC then get a front mount. But if you want to stay stock mount and want the biggest possible get an M2 large.

One advantage to using the Greddy SMIC is that it's CARB legal. Not that any of that crap matters up in Canda, which appears to be where serge1 is located. It's definitely a consideration for those of us in California that have to deal with the biennial smog nazis, but for the rest of you, you can probably get away with other stuff.

I agree with rotaryfdtt though...this SMIC is pretty damned expensive for being a small unit. If you don't care about CARB certification, go for the M2 units or something else (Blitz makes an SMIC too).
