Greddy Oil Filter relocation Kit MODIFICATION

4 Attachment(s)
I bought a set of Greddy oil relo kit - and after having read threads about the hoses popping at WOT, I decided to make a mod by replacing the barbed fittings w/ 8AN fittings (initially by wacking off the barb and welding on a AN fitting) - but decided to machine me a new set of new one piece fittings.

This way there is no chance of the hoses slipping off w/ the clamps. I am working on the fittings for the hose. I got a still braided teflon hose rated at 3000psi from work (I know its overkill), but hey WTF, its my car :)

The only reason I did this is because:

1. I own this Greddy kit - and now that I know the fittings suck, I am gonna fix it (obviously I can't send it back to the company I bought it from - been too long).
2. I can't sell it to another forum member - that's passing the problem onto someone else.

It cost a little more to do this than just the original kit itself. But it will not slip off under any condition.

You can see the original pieces w/ the barb fitting and the new pieces w/ the 8AN fittings. I even put grooves for the rubber rings. Fits perfectly.

Anyway, just wanted to share this w/ the forum.

you better put a Paten on that!

It's been documented... :)

I wonder how many people have the relo kit and are using it as is?

i thought about doing it but couldnt find the advantage other than dont have to take the elbow and intake ping off.
so i dont take the chance.
but nice job thanks for posting up for future rotor heads.
got any part #s for those an fittings?

The fittings are your standard AN fittings size 8 (1/2") - the fittings you see in the pics are machined from one piece (thread, nut and fitting).

you should make a couple of those and sell it as a kit, I know I would buy a set..

Doesn't racing beat have an oil filter relocation kit too? and even a setup for 2 oil filters?

always wondered why people relocate the oil filter as its in a pretty easy spot to get to.

I am picking the rest of the pieces/fittings for the hoses - I'll post pics tonight w/ all parts assembled - just not installed in the car - I think I will install this weekend.

when you install an oil block adapter to install an oil temp and oil pressure gauge the oil filter hits the TPS and makes it harder to get to, that is why most people will do an oil filter relocation.

Here are the parts to complete the set - I used the existing hoses that came w/ the kit and inserted fittings that can handle up to 3000psi.

The other end is identical, though not yet finished - need to measure lenght needed. After inserting the fittings w/ the aid of a hydraulic machine, we were unable to remove the fitting - trust me we tried. As this is a screw on fitting, it will not pop off at WOT.

I'll take a pic of the kit installed.
