Greddy Elbow question
I noticed that the greddy elbow does not have the nipple in the back. Stock elbow have a tube attached to the back of the elbow....
now, What should I do with the rubber pipe after installing the greddy elbow? I have no idea where to connect that tube since the stock elbow had a place to connect it. |
just plug it up.

umm not nessasary to have it connected to anywhere....? umm, anymore comment from anyone?

On my JDM it's plugged, but i suppose thats because they dont have the AWS solenoid.

This is for your accellerated warm up...when you first turn the car on when its cold it will hold the RPMs at around 3k. Basically this can not possibly be good for the engine and plugging the tube gets rid of that. It is actually already gone if you have a power fc. I used a lug nut in mine and clamped it in there. Since the single conversion my tube is gone altogether. A spark plug fits nicely in there too.

Let me say that again on my JDM, the factory elbow is capped where that pipe would normally go. On US and UK models it goes from the elbow to the AWS solenoid under the UIM. You can plug it. |
ok sounds good! thankx guys

look at maxcoopers site..
he mentioned that he had it unplugged but replumbed it... look at the bottom of his ASP medium install notes: http://maxcooper.com/rx7/parts_info/ic/index.html |
Don't even bother...there are a few people who say they ran into problems by plugging it and that you should plumb it back in. Just about everyone else on this forum (99%)has plugged it or eliminated it completely with no problems including myself. If you plug it and run into a problem then think about plumbing it back in. In the mean time why waste your time?

Just buy a rubber cap (.75" I think) from Autozone for like a buck. I capped mine ages ago and never looked back.
What kind of problems do people have? I know leaving it unplugged tends to spray oil all over the firewall. |
A few people had problems with the car having very low idle and sometimes even stalling. Mine stayed exactly the same
