Got my car running

IRP raceported engine with tension bolts, 2mm RA seals, OMP removed. Took a while but they finally got it finished. Was worth the wait. It's fed by a t04r and 850/1680's. I still have 1200 miles of break in so that's why my piping isn't hooked up.

That look nice! Are you supposed to leave the turbo like that? I thought that might over spin that turbo since it's not pressurizing an IC/IM.

love the plate!

And you kept a the bike! Just sold my r6 3 days ago to help finish my fd.

To clarify the wait - I sent IRP my engine anyway even when they were heavily busy, and I was told it would take a little time. So it's nothing wrong on their part. Thanks for a great engine! :)

Glad you're happy with it John, definitely post some videos of the engine idling :icon_tup:

I'd recommend hooking up the turbo to the intercooler and just use your right foot as a 'boost controller' for breakin :D

Man that is a clean FD. Nice build.

Very nice. Cant wait to hear it.

Love the double din unit btw, i just did it to mine but i have the ground that stupid brake wire so it can display video while in motion lol

ty ty everyone. I hooked my piping up and now I'm running 3psi. It sounds like an absolute monster even at part throttle. I've been scaring people on the sidewalk all day.

Nice car man. I like the small touches like the coil relocation. Beautiful job and I'd say well worth any waiting involved.

Only thing I'd recommend is an idler pulley.

Over spooling could only happen if the turbo was extremely small. It wont over spool because the turbo isn't pressurizing the engine. Since the engine isn't receiving any boost pressure, there's not enough exhaust energy or load from the exhaust to over spool the turbine. It's just like holding revs in neutral at say 7,000 rpms. The turbo will be spinning but there isn't enough energy from the exhaust under those loads or conditions to over spool it. If that were the case then you would be making boost pressure just by holding a sustained hi rpm rev while sitting in the driveway (which wont happen with a turbo of that size on this engine). Makes since?
