Got me a SMIC

I like the Threads with pics. And am getting tired of the same ol questions so I threw my latest mod info up..

I Needed a SMIC setup so I could keep the Radiator getting plenty of air for Road Racing.

I had the Greddy StockMount as my #1 choice and the PFS #2. (based on surface area) And I couldnt pass up the deal I got on a PFS (still more than twice the surface area compared to stock) so I got it.
I was shocked when I saw it in person alot bigger than what it seemed in the pics.
Man, any upgraded IC is a BIG step up from the stocker!

Heres a pic installed.

Im about to add fuel enhancements and then some,
to take full advantage of the stock twins capabilities. Cant wait for some Hi Speed Touring Stuff to show that Ive been busy during the Off Season!

ou need to get some torque clamps for your couplers (ic) this will make sure you don't leak boost.

HeatTreated 02-11-04 01:25 PM

I dont leak boost and have new Hose Technique Couplers. Those clamps will hold

now, where to route my IC sprayer..

Sweet. I'm expecting PFS IC also in coming days from the States (from SVT Squasher forum member).

I was just wondering if there could be any fitment issues with Koyo radiator installed ?

This IC really does look bigger on these pics... to that wimpy stocker :D

rynberg 02-11-04 04:07 PM

If you installed the Koyo with the brackets reversed to make it sit lower, you will be fine. If you didn't, you'll have to, because otherwise the duct for the IC will smash on your fan assembly and the air box will smash down on the upper radiator hose.

Listen to rynberg..He knows his stuff.

My Koyo (the same radiator I think) was installed wrong at first and it smashed the radiator shield fan assembly, actually what happens is the fan under the intercooler will stop working as the radiator fan is trapped between the radiator core and the intercooler. It costed me two radiator fans before I found what the problem was. Once my water temps hit 114 because of that.

Damn... my Koyo was installed when my car was at Mazda service. But they said there werent any fitment issued so I HOPE they reversed the monuting brackets...
Damn... reinstalling a radiator is a biatch probably... not ?
