Got a few questions for the rotary experts.
 

1. Where does the pressure hose that is coming out of the thing where you put coolant in go? It's about 2 feet long, and is just laying behind the intercooler, I have no idea where is goes.

2. When the car is on the radiator fans don't come on, but when you turn the car off and turn the ignition back on the fans come on. But turn it off and back on again they wont come on.

3. When you put the fuse in that controls the headlight motors, the headlights go ape shit, just going up and down up and down up and down, non-stop.

4. The headlights come on, but I have no parking lights and no tail lights.

5. The little nipple on the bottom of the radiator what plugs into that? And where does the other end of it go? I was guessing the overflow.

I have all the plugs hooked up as much as I can see. If anyone knows anything that can help me out I would really really appreciate it, thanks.

The fan operation you describe is normal, come one lets help this guy out... *bump*

1. It goes to the AST (air separator tank), which is bolted onto the right side of the intercooler. It's a black plastic "container" which holds the coolant, this line comes in the side of the tank. To be "insured" on not having an engine fire, you need to replace it with an aluminum AST from Pettit Racing.

If you are asking about 1 and 5, it sounds like someone has already removed the AST. The nipple on the bottom of the radiator- is it just blocked off with a short piece of tubing or a vacuum connector plug? In stock setup, this connection and the hose you have lying behind the intercooler are used to connect the AST, radiator and overflow tank. If the AST is removed, there will be only a hose from the filler cap on the passenger side to the overflow tank in the right front fender well. The method to plug off the nipple on the bottom of the radiator should be secure- a thick, sturdy piece of tubing, not one of those plastic vacuum fitting plugs, which will eventually leak and allow your coolant to spray all over the engine. Other option is to put the AST back on. Don't waste money on a stock plastic one- they will leak and allow your coolant to spray all over the engine. Buy an aluminum one from Pettit or one of the other after market places.

Do yourself a favor and get a service manual and see if you can find someone with a FD which still has all the parts intact so you can look at their car to see where the hoses and stuff are supposed to go. Some of the sites on the forum have close up photos of the engine which may also be helpful. Sounds like someone did a real half-assed job trying to remove stuff from your car before you got it.
