Got an Extra Tranny- Worth it to fix synchro now?
 

A friend of mine gave me an extra tranny from his 94 touring. It was sitting in his garage for years now with a blown 3rd gear synchro(blew while racing). My question is should I have a shop replace 3rd gear and maybe beef up 5th synchro? Or should I wait till I replace my own, and use my own tranny? His 5th is fine, and i was wondering if it would be more cost effective to do it now that i have an extra tranny. This way I could just tell a shop to swap trannies.

If it was me I'd pull it apart and replace both of the synchros and check everything else out in the meantime. I just like taking sh*t apart though.
