tt2323 01-31-04 01:35 AM

boost gauge then fuel control

elmo908 01-31-04 01:44 AM

Maybe an intake and help those turbos breath. Get a radiator, and some reliability mods.

First put them on the car hehe I couldnt resist.

Whats your plans with the car? Street, race, or just fun?

mazdaspeed00 01-31-04 06:03 AM

intake then upgrad ECU to standalone

amp 01-31-04 06:16 AM

track time..
then proceed to the next mod once you feel youve outgrown the available power..

MazdaRx7Racer4Life 01-31-04 09:50 AM

Definitely, but dopn't upgrde to a Midpipe until you upgrade your ecu.

mazda v 02-01-04 03:19 PM

ok so i ran a 14 flat at lacr stock. and yes i have to put them on lol.. i have a boost gauge,my plans are to have the fatest rx7 in oxard. how do i upgrade the ecu??? i dont know where to start.. i like street racing and i wanna be a highway runner too?

mazda v 02-01-04 03:23 PM

im so new at having this car i hate it.. but thats what i get for being 18 when i got it? so if you guys have any step by step ways to help me that would be great..lol

Larz 02-01-04 03:39 PM

Reliability mods first, then concentrate on power. Save massive amounts of cash and single the turbo system.

Instead of trying to get an answer in this post, please read through the hundreds of threads about this same topic that are in the archives here -- use the search function. There are also some good sites listed in the newbie sticky.

Once you learn more about the cars, you will be able to make intelligent decisions for yourself on how to mod your car. Don't be in such a hurry to mod the car. It's already fast enough to kill you in stock form....

thanks for the death check! =)

mazda v 02-02-04 06:26 PM

so i still cant find where i can get an ecu upgrade...anyone?

Quickfini 02-02-04 06:38 PM

Put on a boost gauge and check your boost pattern first. Make sure it's a good 10-8-10 pattern, and then start modding. Upgrade your precat with a downpipe, since that seems to clog up fast and retains a lot of heat. :)

????? I don't think you've looked very hard...

There's the AEM, Haltech, Microtech, Power FC, PFS PMC, M2 ecu, Pettit ecu..etc.

Do some research here, there's hundreds of posts covering ecus.

i would suggest a upgraded radiator as your next part. if you plan on having a fast FD, you not only need go-fast mods but reliability mods also are a MUST. trust us on this, it will save you so much of a headache in the future. i know it sucks bying expensive parts that dont increase power much, but its well worth it.

mazda v 02-03-04 03:51 AM

like can you give examples of reliability mods? ...like ast,i have a good radiator..dont know what kind yet but the shop guy said its a good 500 dollar radiator..came with when i bought it..but ya,i was going to get ngk spark plugs ..someone said not to get iridium or platnium???and some ignition plug wires..along with and egt,but what are some good ones.i look through every section at rx7store everyday!!!no life, lol.

souroull 02-03-04 09:23 AM

If i were you i'd do this, found on that site jpandes told ya, get a petit ecu to go with it and call it a year. dont go too far unless your parents have money to waste:)
dont forget all the reliability mods too..

You can boost the horsepower output of the engine from it's stock 255 hp at the flywheel to 360 by opening the intake, upgrading the intercooler, adding a fuel computer, replacing the pre-cat with a down pipe, replacing the main catalytic converter with a legal high-flow cat and replacing the very restrictive cat-back exhaust. Road and Track called the stock 3rd gen RX-7 a Trans Am car for the street. At 360 hp and 2900 lbs it is scary fast

souroull 02-03-04 09:25 AM

reliability mods are here...

http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobi...eliabiltiy.htm

blueskaterboy 02-03-04 01:31 PM

reliability mods. if your not going for massive single power, a pettit ecu should be good. dp, mp/highflow, exhaust helps a lot in adding power. radiator is a waste of money. with my mods at 12psi i get around 340hp. my water temp stays at 180 +-2 on stock radiator. with fanmod that is...

im running at 7psi and taking it easy for now though until i get an fmic. the stock lunchbox intercooler is a piece.

mazda v 02-03-04 02:55 PM

so i go to petit racing.com and just look for upgrade on 93 rx7 tt, im fixxing my twin turbos up right now..upgrading later...
