Big thing I can say is read and research THOROUGHLY. This is not a car you can just put some mods on and have it go fast - that's a quick path to a blown motor.

Get the fundamentals done (boost gauge, water temp, get car running 100%) then start looking at the fun mods.

jwilson,

When it comes to exhaust, there are few things to consider:

1. What type of exhaust do you want? Single or dual tip?
2. Straight exhaust or angled out the back?
3. Does loudness matter to you?

Once you start answering those questions, you'll be able to narrow down what exhaust will fill your needs from the many available.

But you got a turbo timer.....................................

That's money well spent.

Why is it so hard for people to search?

preludesh2000 12-04-06 05:18 PM

most of that $#!t is personal preference anyway...most of the exhaust are the same....its all on what look and note tone your looking for....
and there all right...read, read,read...and learn about the car before you start bolting parts on....good luck

The AST is good. KOYO is OK. But the turbo timer won't do you much good as these turbos are water cooled. Another thing you can search and read about.
As far as intakes go, many aren't really COLD AIR intakes, just opened intakes that will suck alot of pre-heated engine air and make your car noisy.
Since your asking about cat-back systems, it reminds me that a temptation for newer owners seems to be throwing on a mid-pipe. Again, Dale's advice is sound and will save you money in the long run. The money you spent on that turbo time is one example. Avoiding Boost Creep and detonation from a mid-pipe is another.
A great place to start is at the FAQs and links found in the stickies at the top of this section.
Oh, FWIW, I run a GREDDY SP cat-back. Huge rolled tip (a friend calls it the grapefruit shooter). But it's first rate construction and materials, flows VERY well and IMO it has the best sound of any I've every heard. Low and mean at idle and almost Ferrari-ish at WOT.
