good deal or not so good?

ok we got this car for $1,700 from auction it has theft title the hood was missing, and the interior car runs good, has really good short shifter and some other cool stuff on it.

what do you guys think about this car???????? :smiley_12 http://photos.hi5.com/0001/329/326/6BFZXI329326-02.jpg http://photos.hi5.com/0000/858/746/SSQHNB858746-02.jpg

That may be the best purchase you will ever make.

DeclareYrWar 06-09-06 12:24 AM

...i hate you haha. thats the most amazing deal ive ever heard besides this guy who paid 2000 for an fd with a "blown motor" that really just had a vacuum hose unpluged from the air flow meter and actually had a fairly new engine with new turbos. thats a really awesome deal though man, congratulations

dima_b32 06-09-06 12:27 AM

thanks. i think this car has aftermarket turbos and rebuild engine and it ha like 112,000 on the millege and thats how we got the car on the pics just gave it a was.

got almost all parts inside wating for a hood.

what calor should we paint it? any sugdestions?

DeclareYrWar 06-09-06 12:41 AM

personally, i love montego blue. thats just mho though. if you wanna go with like a full color change tho id say like a nice deep blue or somthing of that sort. just a suggestion

dima_b32 06-09-06 12:47 AM

ok made a mastake on the price, my brother just told me that it was $2,700 not $1,700 sorry. but still

DeclareYrWar 06-09-06 02:13 AM

thats still an outrageous deal man. maybe one day i'll get lucky and stumble across somthing like that haha, doubt it but hey a guy can dream right?

details on the auction? is this a in person auction or is it those online ones that u pay $30 to access the auction. always wondered about those.

sevensix 06-09-06 02:38 AM

it looks partially stripped inside

GoodfellaFD3S 06-09-06 07:18 AM

dimab_32, nice purchase. of course, you can quickly end up spending 10 times the prices you paid on the car in mods and maintenance, lol :)

dima_b32 06-09-06 07:50 AM

We perchased it from Copart, the car was located in Martinez.
the car was striped inside the entirior, but we have almost all of the parts for it and its almost ready to go.
Our cousin won this car for us, you have to have an acount and you pay for it if you play cars online. we payd him like $100 to win it.

good info. i guess those places are legit. being online.. do they show the car in person prior to the bidding?

StreetWise 06-09-06 12:11 PM

oh man you are so lucky, i wish i could find a deal like that. but then again i would have to clear out more space in my garage for 2 FD's instead of one. plus i would have to hear it from the General ( aka Wife ) about buying the same car again without getting her a 2006 Escalade.....

HardHitter 06-09-06 12:31 PM

with the deal you got on that car you can put a 20b into it :-)

Or if you don't want a rotary drop a turbo'd LS1

sevensix 06-09-06 12:36 PM

hm turbo a ls1 in a fd... as if a NA ls1 isn't enough :)

they used to let people in to see the cars, but people started stealing little things off them, stuff like stereos and junk they can carry out. so now its all online. they give u lots of pics and info as best as they can.
hope that helps
