Goes into Gear w/out a problem BUT slipping bigtime while accelerating...Clutch orNO?

My car goes into gear perfectly fine however when I'm accelerating slipping bigtime RPM's shooting up and not going anywhere. Do I need a new Clutch or what? If so what's the best for Street and Strip Performance right now??

If it's slipping whilst you accelerate, it's most likely your clutch. Not much else could be slipping, you know? Get it inspected...you might just need a new clutch...if that's as bad as it gets, then cool :)

sounds like clutch to me... that was exactly how mine was when it went... i got the ACT HD and am very happy with it... but my car is only lightly modified... DP and CB only really...

Most likely it is your clutch. The perfect clutch for you would be the ACT street/strip clutch. I highly recommend this clutch.

Where's the best place to get this clutch and how much did they hit you up for?

Mine is going out just like that. Really sucks. Oh well I guess they were right about Centerforce Clutches. They Suck ass.

It is your clutch. Mine did the same thing right before it went out. I put the Bonez street/comp clutch in my car and so far, so good. I have had it in for just under a year without any problems. It seemed to bite a little harder when it was new....now it has gotten a little smoother. I hope it is not wearing wrong. But it has never slipped and seems very high quality. I would recomend replacing the flywheel with a lighter one while you are having the clutch put in. Also replace all the bearings and upgrade all lines to Steal-braded lines.

Don't replace, upgrade!! I'd also suggest the ACT Clutch

Don't get the CenterForce Clutch, you will be wasting your money. The ACT clutch is extremely good and is great for the street and track. The labor is pretty expensive to install the clutch, which will be about $250-300. Try calling up Import Circuit for the clutch, their prices are extremely good.

Holy shit, it costs almost 1 grand to buy a new clutch and install it

Funny thing...I've been driving my car like a maniac doing WOT runs at every stop light and the clutch will NOT slip anymore. It's been three days and I've driven for hours at a time trying to make it slip and it won't. Is there anyway that say oil leaking onto the bottom of the car can seep into the clutch housing?? If not...I don't know how to explain what happened to my car the other day. Also, that was the FIRST and ONLY time I've ever felit it slip in a year and a half since installing. We'll see what happens by the end of the week. I actually just walked in from a 3 hr. road trip and did numerous WOT runs to well over 100 mph. and my clutch bites as hard as ever.
