GC Coilover Spring Rate Feedback

Please post what shocks you are using in the title and then what spring rates you are using or have tried and feedback on them as shown below.

If your shock is adjustable, please include your settings for the different spring combinations as well.

It seems like a good idea to me to compile information like this on different products in different threads.

Re: GC Coilover Spring Rate Feedback

First set: Tokico Illumina, 550 lbs./in front 450 lbs./in rears, front at 4 and rears at 3. This sucked. Not compliant enough; harsh ride.

Second set: Konis Yellow sport, 450lbs front and 325 rears. Front all the way soft, rears 1/4 turn. This rocks. Very compliant. Best yet. A little harsher than R1 but can't beat the handling. I think the lower spring rates for street use helped immensely.

Eibach Pro-Kit Springs: Don't know the spring rates.

Tokico Illumina: 3 up front; 1 in back.

Nice ride a bit soft when tossing the car into the corners . . .

GC stands for Ground Control

I am trying to get feedback on different spring rates with their conversion kit along with different shocksthat are paired with them.

Jeff at ProParts/Tri Point put my setup together.

All Koni shocks Dyno (Force VS Displacement) tested with sheets and numbered.

Shocks de-gassed, and re-valved to car.

Did not go Double Adjustable at this time (went new Shocks with the proper valves).

Assembled with GC coils and 550 front, 350 rear (may go 375 rear after some tests) Eibach springs, 40mm and 55mm rod-type bumpstops.

Installed with Jimlab's full nylon bushing set:D

No TESTING at this time. Single turbo beast not running:eek:

Later, Jeff
