Gauge cluster swap??

Hey guys I was wondering if gauge cluster swaps are inerchangeable? I have a 94 and my cluster beeps once in a while. Wondering if I put a used one in will it still function ok? Has anyone done a gauge cluster swap?

it will work but your mileage count will change, as its stored in the cluster

So will it have to be the same year and manual/auto? And the mileage will continue where the new cluster left off? or will it reset to my orginal mileage which would be great.

Whatever mileage is on the cluster you install will be the mileage that shows. it is stored in the cluster. take out old cluster = take out old mileage reading. there are proper and legal ways to do a cluster swap. Look into the regulations for your state.

if you take the old and new cluster to your local mazda dealership they should be able to do it for you

So you want to replace your cluster because it "beeps every once in a while"? When does it beep?

it'll swap just fine plug and play. but i would take the cluster apart and get the exact mileage reading from the one that beeps and make it the same on the new one.

Get the exact mileage before you pull the gauge cluster out.

The beeps, are you sure you don't have some other problem?

Why replace the cluster unless it's not functioning?

I get beeps from the cluster too, right around 7500rpm... oh, and once when my coolant needed to be topped off... and this other time, when my seatbelt wasn't clicked. I don't think it's a problem with the cluster, though...

 If it were that easy, every car out there would have mileage fraud....
