Gass Question...

There's no point to running 100+ octane in a stock car, unless you are tracking the car, and even then it's most likely a waste of money for a stock car. Running higher octane will not make more power.....
Anyway, higher octane fuels are not commonly available. Sometimes, individual gas stations will sell 100 octane or even leaded gas, but it will be over $5/gallon. Tracks often have 100 unleaded and high octane leaded available as well. |
you will actually waste your money and make less power adding 100+ octane in a stock car. high octane fuel burns slower so I has the effect of not detanating while funning high boost or high compression. Like rynberg said was of money.
Well it isn't bad but your knock level may go up alittle when you switch back to 91-93 octane. I havn't experianced this with a rotary but my M3 and Trans AM all had a higher know level till I went through two more tanks of fuel. |
using higher octane fuel like 100+ on a stock car will also clog the cat faster then 93 octane will

To emphasize the point however, running any kind of leaded fuels will kill your cats and o2 sensor. |
Try checking out the Sunoco website. I know a few years ago they sold 100 octane gas at selected stations in some states.

sunoco around here sells 103 and i think 6.15 a gallon, i have to double check
or you can just go to your local dragstrip..im sure they have some high oct there.. |
