Gas for the FD

I have heard lots of arguments on this in my area, but people have told me I can only use 93+ octance gas in the FD. Yet here, Unleaded Premium is only 91 octane. Will this present a problem for my car?

Thanks

DO A SEARCH.

No it will not cause a problem.

The higher the octane the less chance of knock, ping, detonation, etc. Knock is very bad for our cars. If your car is stock there is a knock sensor that will retard timing (lose power) if it detects knock. If 91 is all that's available to you, you don't have much of a choice. I guess you could buy octane boosters, but probably not needed if your car is stock running stock boost.

UR manual states premium unleaded, which is 91 octane at a minimum. Many states are only offering 91 octane. It's better to have 92-93 octane but the state gov't tries to cheat us. It's safe though.

Okay, just trying to make sure it's safe. My FD is stock running stock tt's, so i should be fine then. THanks for all your help! Mod, if you wanna delete this it's fine with me.
