Gap when installing new clutch/PP

Hey, i am installing my new ACT S/S Clutch kit and ACT streetlite flywheel combo on my motor before i put it in. i got the flywheel all in place and bolted on. now, i set the clutch against the flywheel with the alignment tool, and once i slip the PP on to the clutch, and align the dowels, there is about a 1/4" gap between the pressure place mounting holes and the holes on the flywheel. Is this how it is supposed to be? SO when i install the bolts, it will suck the 2 of them together?

Every clutch Ive installed has taken a little convincing to get on the flywheel flush. The bolts should suck it flush, just make sure you tighten them criss-cross and evenly.

You have to realize that gap your looking at before you bolt it down is basically the pressure being applied to the clutch disc. I'm not sure what you were expecting but if it didn't have a gap to close what clamping force would you have ??

I haven't done an FD clutch, but I have done alot of other cars. Make sure the clutch disk is facing the correct direction. Most disks have a forward/front facing side and a rear/back facing side, they are sometimes directional and the disk should have had a sticker or stamp on one side of it. Sometimes there is an offset in the length of the spline making the spacing different.

93FDADR let me know what the clutch feels like when its all installed (pedal pressure and driving experience) im about to buy one of these clutches and just looking for opinions.

I've got the ACT street strip setup. Actually the third car I've had their street/strip setup in. I love it and wouldn't put any other clutch in. Pedal pressure is firmer than stock, but not rock hard. Grabs awesome, very streetable. Haven't ever had any problems from it.
