Full exhaust and intake my choices for ECU upgrades @ 10+ psi?
 
I have been searching for a while now on my options for an ecu upgrade and have so far come up with this list of available performance ecu's. I am only wanting to upgrade to a full exhaust and intake. But from what I hear I would also have to install a bigger intercooler to support those few mods. To tell you the truth I am still confused about selecting an ecu for my mods, therefore I posted for some suggestions. What I would really like to know is what ecu's are safe to run more than 10 psi, and are their certain ecu's that are to excessive of a fuel curve than what I need. I plan on running the factory fuel system.

1)Apexi PFC w/ or w/o commander
2)PFS, PMC, PMS all the same thing, Fuel Management computer, purple or gold w/ or w/o commander which I believe offer base maps for 10,12, 15 pounds
3)M2-- don't even know what it is.
4)Haltech E6k-- for mainly dragging and single turbo mods I assume?
5)Wolf----- for mainly dragging and single turbo mods I assume?
6) chipped ecu?

Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions you may have.

Get the Power FC. IMO, if you don't port your wastegate, you should install larger fuel injectors/pump. Boost creep is not so good, but it's really not good if you don't have the fuel to support it.

If you don't want to spend so much money, stick with the hi-flow cat. You won't have boost creep and you can run 13 psi all day long with the PFC and stock fuel system.

And yes, you should get an intercooler upgrade for levels above 10 psi, if for no other reason that your turbos will last a lot longer.

Thanks again for your advice on the porting the wastegate or high flow cat. I am going to have to think really hard on that one, because I really am not sure which I should do. Chance getting a ticket with a midpipe, and costs of porting wastegate, or install a high flow cat. I already have the midpipe, so I really don't want to put it to waste so I am probably going to lean more towards ported wastegate, would that be all I would have to worry about other than adding a boost controller, to be safe on boost creep. And is it a window shattering sound with a free flowing exhaust, btw?

Depends on the CB you have. It will definitely be loud once the secondary comes online, either way.

I would definetly be thinking about getting one with a silencer if it is even affective, like an n1 or something.

You should just get a quiet cat-back to start with -- Racing Beat dual-tip. An N1 with the silencer in it flows worse than the stock exhaust.

Well err yeah your prolly right :p:. Other than vid's I haven't really heard how a full exhaust sounds on a 7 and I am expecting something worse than a v8 or dodge viper with test pipes. So that's why I was considering a silencer, but yeah your right, honestly, wouldn't be using the silencer silly me I might as well put an orange in there right.
