Fuel Thermosensor: I know where it is, but what exactly is it used for?

Would like to know if anyone has the answer.
Getting this error code from the ECU.

Thanks.

the fsm/service highlights mentions its used for hot starts. it may do more than that, our documantation in the usa is a bit skimpy. if you're getting a code its because there is an open or short in the circuit. its probably a bad sensor, which is kinda rare actually. N391-18-840 is the part number.

...first clear the error code...see if it comes back...if it does, then remove and test the part if there's a diagnostic for it in the manual...from there decide if you need/want to replace it. for all you know you just have a loose wire connection....on second thought...look at the manual first.

DOH! Fuel density will change slightly as the temperatrure changes. Even more so for air, and we also have an air temperarture sensor.

Both are used to control the engine AFRs. It is not a hot start device as it is used for all engine running modes.

If it is bad, the affect on fuel delivery is minor.

Thanks guys. I'll start by clearing the code and checking the connection.

I was told the sensor can adjust the ECU up to 7 percent .I run one in my aftermarket fuel rail that came without a fitting for it ,so I welded one in .
