Fuel Temps? Nitrile O-ring ok?

Hi guys,

I am in need of a new O-ring to the fuel thermosensor that I just removed.

I have a nitrile O-ring, it is good up to 90C (195F). Is it safe to use it?

What kinda temperatures does the fuel see?

Nitril or better known as buna-N or NBR has good compatibility with gasoline and ethanol mixes. From a temperature range it's good up to 212F. You should be good to go.

Thanks for the input.

Well the seller said 90C and it will start to get dry at 100C (212F). Saw nitrile o-rings in an other store and they claimed the operational range to be -55 °C till +125 °C. (-67 -- 257F).

No matter what is true, I feel confident using my o-ring now.

Still a bit curious at what fuel temps usually are though...
