Fuel Temps

Hey, has anyone messed around with fuel cooling. I've been doing some research and some calculations. However, there isn't very much info out there. Maybe someone here has had some expirience. I know that the FD has a sensor that measures fuel temps, don't know what purpose it really serves. On a side note, did you know that the fuel temps go up 2 degrees Farenhiet for ever psi?

Anybody?

Why would you want to cool fuel, when it's going to get burned anyway?

Cooler fuel is like cooler air, the cooler it is the denser it gets, and the more you can squeeze into the combustion chamber.
There is an old drag racers trick that works well. YOu take alot of metal fuel line and coil it up into a coffee can, fill the coffee can with water and freeze it. A drag racer would have a couple of these and swap em' out when they thaw out. I'm not sure of the real numbers but it would be fun to experiment with on the dyno (now if I can just find room enough in my engine bay for a coffee can ;) )

Frank

It sounds like a clever idea, but I'm not much of a fuel expert to comment.

It would be cool to see more information about water injection on the Fd.

A basic search yielded this about water injection...

Might be worth checking out.
