Fuel System upgrades pump / RC Eng 1300cc modified secondary injectors

I need more fuel. I already emailed RC but I haven't heard back from them yet. Can anyone advise how much the 1300cc upgrade service usually is? Do you usually need to provide core exchange injectors?

Can anyone advise if this pump is enough? SARD High Flow Fuel Pump Universal - 295l/h - RHDJapan

Here is the pump datasheet in Japanese, says its a new release http://www.sard.co.jp/pdf/1311_FP295L.pdf

I'd prefer to use a denso pump over a Walbro400/450/460 or Aeromotive because I believe the fitment of the upgraded Denso will be much easier / closer to factory.

I'm looking at

2x850cc + 2x1300cc Looking to keep it below 85% total duty including injector lag time.

Power would be under 450hp using sequential twins fuel pressure under 43.5 and boost under 20psi.

I'd go with supra tt pump

1300 secondaries
550 primaries

After about 15 psi the stock twins won't give you much if anymore power and you are looking at approx 375 max power if the dyno is honest

Id get FFE's secondary rail fuel setup and use the shorty ID1300's and all emissions remain in place. I'm making ~350rwhp and trap in the mid/high teens so I'm pretty sure the dyno is being honest. Running ~13-14psi on 99 twins.

Between the cleaned and flow checked to ensure health stock 550's in the primary spot my car idles and drives better than stock.

Other than the pressure gauge poking out the back off the rail, it looks completely stock and works as well or better than stock.

I'm running a walbro 255 due to easy availability and low cost. No issues with it now or in any of the other cars I've run one in.

Here is what I'm running with the ID1300's:

Car already has 850cc primaries in it running well. I'm using a HKS F-Con V-Pro with a 32 bit CPU in it. I believe it has much finer control than a PowerFC and that is why I have no problems running 850cc primaries.

Turbos in question are HT12-X242 units, the compressor wheels are 6 bladed and have a 63mm exducer (all other RX-7 HT12's have a 57mm exducer). The compressor wheel is also taller. They have shown to have no problems holding 15+psi all the way to 8000rpm.

I'm not in the USA so its not easier for me to get a Supra TT pump.

I would get the FFE setup if I needed the fuel flow of ID2000s otherwise I think for the price its a bit over the top.

I recommend either the FFE or CJ kit with 1300cc or 2000cc injector, it's just easier for upgrade down the road, and injectors are new so no risk of running into sticky bored out injector.

I have an identical setup as Jason, except that I'm running Aeromotive 340lph pump and EV14 2000s. Made the same # with stock twins at 1bar, with max injector duty cycle below 70 and AFR at solid 11.

Cool, sounds like you have it figured out :icon_tup:

Turns out that Sard pump is 38mm diameter but the RX-7 hanger is designed for a 51mm denso pump? Any advice on where to get a Supra pump if it is indeed enough for 850+1300?

IRPerformance 10-14-14 08:00 PM

The 1300s are just modified stock 850s and are proven to have a high failure rate. I have had so many fail that I won't use them anymore. Best option is the FFE fd step up kit. If you want to save money go with EV14s over the ID injectors. On twins you won't need more fuel than just doing the secondaries, unless you plan to upgrade to a single in the future and don't want to do it twice. I'd be more than happy to put something together for you.
