fuel system upgrade from stock questions

Hi guys,

Im going to be getting my car tuned on the stock twins soon - setup will be full exhaust (no cat) air pump removal, big intercooler, PFC & commander and a few other bits (nothing much performance related though, i have supporting mods such as rad and AST)

My question is regarding the fuel system...since i got the car the standard fuel system has been a worry for my when it comes to tuning time - and now enough people have told me to upgrade the fuelling before tuning to make me do it.

Im probably going to go for an upgraded secondary rail and top feed 1600cc injectors from RX7store.net

My questions are...the kit on rx7store.net says that no other parts are required for their extreme fuel system, it is a direct bolt on. Has anyone fitted this kit? is it really that complete? How does the braided line with screw fittings that they supply connect to the standard fuel hose?

Also, regarding the fuel pump - im thinking of a bosch 044 fuel pump. This has to be run inline as i understand it with an in tank pump, question is - will i be ok using the stock pump feeding the bosch pump or do i need to upgrade that too? And will i be safe running without a swirl pot?

The way i understand it is that the FPR creates the required pressure between the pump and itself, and lets the excess flow through it. If the 044 supplies more fuel than stock, then will the stock fuel pump be able to supply enough fuel to the 044? I know the stock fuel pump will not be supplying fuel to the 044 at any great pressure, but i know the 044 is a big pump so i dont want to risk any problems.

I guess what im asking is if i buy the rx7store extreme fuel system, and the bosch 044 fuel pump will that be a useable setup? or should i really be getting a swirl pot too?

anybody?

Let me preface my comments with the statement that I am no expert so I will confine myself to answering just one component of your question. I recently installed a KGParts complete fuel system. Yes, it was complete, except for the resistors, which I believe the RX7 store includes. If I had it to do over again, I would not buy the lines and fittings, just the component parts. I am having to replumb (Is that a word?) because I am unhappy with the excess SS line. This is not only a cosmetic issue but the SS line can abrade anything it touches.

I live in FL but have a place outside London in Virginia Water where I am now. Where are you?

So anybody put together a component system before? I'm wanting to do that but I want to talk to someone who has done it.

If I get the fuel rail, top feed 1600 Bosch injectors, Aeromotive FPR, and the rx7store resistors what else do I need( ie fittings, line, spacers, etc)?

Where would I mount the FPR?

How does this connect to the stock primary rail?

Thanks,
Jeremy
