Fuel system question

I am running parallel twins, power fc, walbro 400lph pump, marren 1600cc primaries, 850cc secondaries.

i need to know what type fuel pressure regulator to go with as well as do i need to change my fuel lines to stainless steel dash lines?

trying to piece together a solid fuel system but obviously with my setup i wont be over 400hp.

any input is appreciated

Oops correction 1600cc marren secondaries and 550cc primaries.

Theres a few people running the stock hard lines making over 400hp, only using larger lines running from the hardlines to the fuel rail(s) and back.

You can modify the stock primary rail to use AN lines/fittings from the hardline at the firewall, to the primary rail, and then from the primary rail to the secondary rail, and from there to the return line at the firewall hardline.

How is your setup done at the tank?

you can go with any FPR, AFAIC.

The typical "go to" FPR is the Aeromotive brand, but theres plenty to choose from. Summit has a nice long list of EFI FPR's to choose from.
Aeromotive even has a "stealth" model FPR thats considerably smaller, but I haven't heard of anyone using it on the rotary application.
My friend uses the aeromotive stealth FPR on his 650hp Honda drag car on E85 with no issues.... and it really is TINY. Take that with a grain of salt tho.

What are your ultimate goals for this car?

Upper300hp weekend warrior really. Streetable/trackable

Lol I mis-read your post.... damn insomnia. havent slept in 30 hours especially with alcohol still flowing through my veins.

You'll be fine with stock 550s in the primary and the 1600 secondaries.

for the FPR, you SHOULD be fine, but you can always go with an aftermarket piece. I wouldnt risk it myself as i've seen some stock FPR's crap out even on low-mileage FDs.
a little extra assurance and insurance is always a good thing

Yeah I corrected initial post I'm running 1600cc secondaries and 550cc primaries. Had to correct in second post since the Mobil version of this site wouldn't let me edit OP.

Did you do the fuel-pump rewire?

IWINULUZ 09-09-12 12:57 PM

No just wired in pump just like it was when I had 255lph walbro in, just updated to 400lph

RotaryEvolution 09-09-12 01:06 PM

not just any FPR, must be a RRFPR.

some people claim the walbro 400 will strain with the stock lines but i haven't heard any failures in over a year.

IWINULUZ 09-09-12 01:07 PM

RRFPR? What does RR stand for something with return?

RotaryEvolution 09-09-12 01:09 PM

rising rate, for force induction applications to offset the manifold pressure increase. the fuel pressure has to increase by the same amount as the pressure accumulating in the intake.

there is regular EFI regulators which are not rising rate for naturally aspirated applications, then there is the rising rate for turbo/supercharged.

most common one used is the Aeromotive A-1000 regulators.

IWINULUZ 09-09-12 01:39 PM

Okay Aero a-1000 but do I need steel braided lines and AN fittings? I have a kg fuel rail as well I forgot to mention

RotaryEvolution 09-09-12 02:25 PM

you will need AN adapters for the FPR but from there you can do whatever you want with barb fittings or complete AN to braided lines or push loc fittings.

Awesome that's what I needed to know. Thanks.
