Fuel pump install question
 

I just installed a Walbro and I searched and mostly all you find is that you have to splice wires. Well what about reusing the stock o-ring and placing the output in the bell, which is what I did?? Will it work that way under full load, or do I need to cut the bell off and install the hose?? I've already put it and cranked it and moved back into the basement, but I haven't got out on the road yet. From what I could tell it actually fits as or more snug in the bell than the stock one. So is it ok to leave it like I did or do I need to remove and fix??

I haven't installed a Walbro in an FD, but I've installed them in '89-91 FC's that use similar setups (bell, o-ring). I seem to remember that kit came with a replacement O-ring and stuff - I just went with that, worked just fine.

I'd trust the O-ring connection moreso than a hose clamped onto pipe without a hose bead, too.

I actually drove it yesterday and checked the AFRs and stuff and it was fine by using the o-ring and the bell.
