Fuel pump identification

I feel kinda noob for asking this but here goes.. :dunno:

I just bought a supra fuel from someone on this forum and I received it, I just don't know how to make sure it is a real supra fuel pump... It doesn't say Denso or anything on it.

here is the part:

i think it should say denso on it or something.. i remeber when i changed mine out it looked the same as stock, but the part numbers were different.

Look on the top black plastic for a part number. If you see a spot where it is ground off it is most likely a RP pump (supra denso)

Looks like a desno pump to me, but IDK if its the supra pump or not.
Check this site. http://www.stealth316.com/2-fuelpumpguide.htm

looks like t he part number or what ever was on top was scratched off

twinsinside 10-03-09 03:39 PM

It wasn't scratched off, the plastic part with the pump ID# was pried off maybe to hide the type of pump it actually is. I just looked at mine and had to pry it off its on there pretty good. I tried to include pics of it but the forum is acting stupid again. The ID tab is a plastic piece with 2 prongs that go into those holes on top.

You can't tell by looking at the pump because they look the same other than the number on the plate.

The sock for my upgrade pump is different than the one shown, which looks exactly like the stock pump one I pulled from my car a few weeks ago.

So you're saying this pump is most likely a stock one?

It sure as heck doesn't look like either of the two Supra pumps that I have seen. The casing is not that color, if you want you can come by my house and see what a brand new one looks like.

Yes, that looks like a Rotary Performance competition pump, which by all accounts is a Supra Denso pump with the numbers ground off. I run the same pump in my car and it looks just like that.

Here is a link to the info on it:

Hope this helps,
