Fuel pump

How much psi does the stock fuel pump push?

94Rx-7 10-10-04 04:07 PM

anyone know?

allrotor93 10-10-04 04:43 PM

not based on psi. i would say you are safe to around 325.

94Rx-7 10-10-04 04:53 PM

well i guess i might be over 325 because i get fuel cut when i boost 10 psi. i have to boost 7 psi and it wont cut.

Fuel cut has nothing to do with the fuel pump, that's the ECU. What are the mods on your car?

d/p m/p tanabe canister, apexi intake, non seq setup, and ported engine is all i can think of off top. I konw i need a new ecu but its coming in january when i have the $1350 to spend on the pfc.

If you are still running the stock ECU with all that, then it most likely is fuel cut. Fuel cut is there to save your engine.

what can i do to get more fuel for now, untill i get the pfc

nothing you want to waste your money on!

just take out the mp, and run a cat for now till jan to save your motor or keep the boost low like you are now.

94Rx-7 10-10-04 05:13 PM

can i just stay at 7 psi ?

Look for a used Pettit or M2 ECU. You can usually find them for around $300-400 (or stay at 7 PSI as you asked).

94Rx-7 10-10-04 05:14 PM

how about a new fuel pump

Like I said earlier, the fuel pump doesn't have anything to do with Fuel Cut.

OK, how about a used fuel pump, since a new one won't help :D

cloud9 10-10-04 08:03 PM

how about you just drive slow untill you can pay to get the PFC, and why not just get a used one for less money so you can get it sooner

Enconsiderate 10-10-04 08:03 PM

thats true mahjik! you can get the pettit for now for about 400. then when your ready for the pfc you can sell the pettit for the same amount. they don't really go down in price.

you dont need to upgrade the fuel pump just yet. once you get the pfc you can pick one up for about 200-250 drop it in and have it waiting until you upgrade your injectors. then tune the heck out of the pfc.
