Fuel Pressure Gauge Mounted underneath Hood?
I am looking to get a fuel pressure gauge installed underneath my hood on my 3rd gen, probably something basic from autometer. What my question is, where and how has anyone mounted the gauge under the hood. If anyone has any pics to show me how they mounted it, I would appreciate it. I searched on the forum and could not find anything.
Thanks, Eric |
Most people, if they have one installed it's mounted on their aftermarket FPR (since they usually have a port for one).

What good is it under the hood ? Get one for the inside where you can see and use it .I have an Autometer on the A piller where I can see it when I need it most under power .Why pay that money and hide it under the hood just to set The pressure at idle ,and let the heat, dirt and vibration effect it .

Guess why it blew? The line for the manifold reference going to the FPR became disconnected...with no metering or way to know inside the cab. edit: the car had no WBAFR either |
figured id actually post pictures :rlaugh:
i mounted mine on the upper intake manifold http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...i-DSCF0320.jpg its not in the best place once the stock cross over pipe is in place http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...i-DSCF0329.jpg |

Useless underneath the hood. You can't do anything with it there besides set fuel pressure. If anything goes wrong, how will you know? Get a proper electronic gauge. Get rid of the volt meter and put it there.

i dont see a reason for having the fuel pressure in the cabin....that way you need 2 people to adjust it if you need to, with mine in the location its in i was able to adjust fuel pressure without the aide of another person.
also you would either need an electrical fuel pressure gauge or an isolator to run a mechanical gauge inside the cabin. im with you on the less is more. i have ditched the center channel ages ago and have a dual 52mm pod there with my wideband afr gauge and water temp, i have a 60mm apexi on the right side of the meter hood by the a pillar and i think its a bit large. not the best pictures (blackberry phone camera) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...7/IMG00123.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...7/IMG00126.jpg |
Agree with David.. I'm putting a Defi BF fuel pressure gauge in my set up.
