Fuel leak on passenger side. Guidance please
 

So my FPD was leaking so I removed it. After I put everything back together. I'm having a huge puddle under my passenger side. The top side looks dry. The turbos look drenched with fuel.

What could cause this? Could it be an open injector? or maybe leaky injector?

How can I diagnose this.

If it leaks when I just prime the fuel, does that mean probably the injectors are leaking?

Both fuel rails, the injectors, fuel pressure regulator, and the fuel pulsation damper are all mounted in that region. Your best bet would be to pull the upper intake manifold of and jumper the fuel pump to check for leaks.

My guess would be the FPD has failed. They are still available or can be eliminated. You can get the fuel recall kit to replace the lines.

Maybe I explained that wrong.

Everything under the upper intake is dry. The turbos are wet on the outside with gas. What should I do to try to fix this?

Are you sure the turbos aren't wet with oil (that smells like gas)? There's no fuel running to the turbo area. If it's dry under the manifold, I don't see where else the fuel would come from.

It's definitely gas. I tested the line without UIM on and no leaks. I'm thinking its leaking through the Lower intake manifold gasket. Thinking a injector might be open and just flooding? Or does that not make any sense.

Take off one of the leading plugs and make sure your engine is indeed flooded. It might still be flooded if you've primed the pump for long enough when testing your setup.

Well, if you leak tested it with the UIM off, then the simplest explanation would be a secondary injector that is stuck open coupled with a bad LIM gasket. This would make sense since the secondaries are mounted to the LIM.

SECOND OPTION.
If it is flooding and the turbo manifold to engine gasket is bad and the fuel is going right out the exhaust port leaking between the manifold and engine.

A few questions:

1. Have the injectors ever been serviced? I used witch hunter.
2. Have you ever replaced the LIM or turbo manifold to engine gaskets?
3. Was this car running recently?

1. The injectors were serviced a few years ago. The car sits a lot...
2. Never replaced those gaskets (Car has 63k miles)
3. Car was running right before I took it apart to replace the delete the fpd.

I'm thinking as I was reinstalling, maybe the secondaries got stuck open or something. But I didn't know if this made sense to flood that side or not.

I'm also wondering if maybe I swapped the fuel lines that are under the throttle body (3 lines). if somehow i reversed them, if this could happen.

The only way you're getting fuel down there is either the injector itself leaking or the O-ring around the injector is leaking.

Since they are side feed injectors, if the bottom O-ring that seals the injector to the rail has failed it will leak gas around the body of the injector and into the intake manifold.

If the wiring to the injectors is cracked or damaged it could be shorting to ground and making the injector stick fully open, which would again cause fuel to go into the intake manifold.

Unfortunately you will probably need to unbolt the fuel rails from the engine to pull them up and see which one is doing the dripping then fix it appropriately.

So just in case anyone else gets this issue. I deflooded and it seems to run again. I might have primed the line too much? and maybe the pressure was just too much. I'm not sure. It doesn't seem to be leaking anymore. I do have white smoke coming from the turbos side of the engine but it's slowly going away.
