Fuel leak for one day

So on Friday I was about to go to work, I started my car and got a huge smell of gas. I look under the car and there is a small puddle of gas and more dripping down in a pretty constant drip. So after cussing for a few i turn the car off hop in another one and off to work i go.

I come back and start the car, no fuel leaks, no fuel smells nothing...

Today i turn it on again with no fuel smells or leaks. So i let the car heat up to operating temps keeping an eye on it the whole time. Still no leaks...

I finally get the balls to take it for a spin, drive about 3 miles down the road, grab some food and come back. Still no fuel leaks or smells in the cabin bay. (i turned my vent on max the whole trip so i could smell gas comming from the engine bay.) I talked to a friend about it and he said it might be my Fuel Pulsation Damper. I ordered a new one from Ray, but I wanted to know what you guys thought first. If it hasn't leaked since that first time should I maybe wait a week before installing the part to see if it was a one time thing, or should i just install it?

Yeah, I'd definitely get in there right away and make sure you don't have a leak. This is how cars burn to the ground.

Yeah i know, but my point is if for the rest of the week i notice it doesnt leak what could the problem be?

I dont wanna install a new FPD and find out thats not the problem.

It could be a lot of things, but there is no real way to be sure until you start to pull things apart. At the very least, you should do the following:

Replace FPD (since you already have a new one)
replace fuel hoses and clamps
