fuel filter so dirty that it brings down fuel psi and doesnt allwo car to start?
is it possible for a fuel filter to be soo dirty after 60k miles that it lowers fuel psi and stops it from starting?

Possible, yes.
Probable, no. The engine has practically zero fuel requirements for startup. You really only start taxing the fuel system when you hit boost. Both the fuel pressure and the volume of fuel required jumps dramatically. |
Alrigth just wondering. I dont have the problem right now but I was just wondering to when I first got the car if it wasnt the fuel pump causing poor fuel pressure but the filter it self?

I agree with turbojeff completely and will also add that if it were the filter it wouldn't happen instantly. Performance would decay over a long time, not just refuse to start one day.

Well hopefully this new fuel filter will clear up the odd 3000 rpm and up hesitation causingit to fluctuate -300 rpm and then +300rpm...
