fuel filter relocation

Anyone done this and have incite? I was looking at doing it and wondering which would be the best filter. I was going to go with the K&N that has the 5/16" barbs on it. I don't have all the extra cash for the NPT parts and steel braided line for the pressure gauge. Just looking for a simple setup.

I'd like to know how to do this as well. If you have pics of the relocation and any custom work post it up!

Pretty straight forward. I used the K&N with hose barbs. Spliced it into the supply line in the engine compartment. I didn't add a fuel pressure gauge or anything fancy...just plain jane install.

At the same time, I pulled the OEM filter. PITA...but anything dealing with the OEM filter seems to be. I also purchased 2' of fuel injection hose from NAPA, you could likely just reuse the OEM fuel hose, I was unsure what could be done with the OEM parts back by the filter.

No pics, sorry.

I have had mine in the engine compartment for about 5-6 months. Some people expressed the concern of having the fuel filter in the engine bay (excessive fire hazard). I kept a close eye on it for about the first 2-3 months, now I just check it every now and again. On hot days 95 degrees F outside, and a few WOT runs, I have not noticed anything dramatic. The fuel filter is very cool (of course) to the touch and even after being parked (after heating up the engine with some spirited runs) for 30 minutes to an hour, the fuel filter is still pretty cool.
