Fuel cutoff switch
 
If I wanted to install a few cut off switch using the fuel pump relay would it be best to install the switch on the black/light green wire?

for purpose of:
band aide fix
extra security

I would just find a source that will let you do it with the least amount of wiring possible. Also, it would make more sense to put a switch in the wire going to the relay that tells the relay to turn on, not in the actual power or ground wire to the fuel pump.

The relay wire is lower amperage and also wouldn't add resistance to the circuit to the fuel pump itself.

I believe the black/light green is positive battery power for the relay. Blue is power supply from battery to the fuel pump when relay is activated blue/red is going to the fuel pump when relay activated, blue/black is ground signal wire from ecm?

Dale, if the above is correct, your suggesting I avoid tapping the blue wire and blue/red to avoid increasing resistance to the power supplying the fuel pump, correct?

Can anyone confirm if my identification on the relay wires and if tapping the black/light green is a location to place to install a rocker switch? or should I install it on the ground signal from the ecm, the blue/black wire.

Anyone know? Maybe I'll just use the blue/black wire from the ecm on the relay.

I decided to go with the ecm signal wire. I have everything setup just waiting on the rocker switch to arrive. I depinned the ecm wire from open circuit relay housing and replaced it with speaker wire that has a similar female spade terminal. I then wired the other end of the speaker wire with a male spade terminal and connected that to the depinned female spade terminal signal wire. I ran the speaker wire under the brake booster and across the firewall through the passenger side. The wire is covered with black corrugated insulation tubing and secured via zip ties to the brake lines. From the passenger side harness entry, I setup the wire ends with female spade terminals for the rocker switch which will be installed at an undisclosed location. The rocker switch won't come in until tomorrow but I'll use a double end spade terminal to test if the car starts and disconnect it to see if the car dies. Going to replace some fuses as I notice some corrosion when I was doing the installation. I'll keep you guys posted on my progress. I'm open to criticism and suggestions, if there are any. If all goes well I'll take pictures. The best part of this setup is the fact that no wires need be cut and I can switch the female spade connector to any of the other relay wires.

Had an opportunity to test it out and works like a charm. The rocker switch I purchased works opposite of what I'd like so I'll be returning that and sourcing a new one. Ideally I'd like the light indicator to be active and when that area is depressed allow continuity. When the opposite side is depressed the light turns off and continuity is cut off. I'm probably going to do the dale/gadd fuel pump rewire, or at least a variation of it, and when I do I'll see about posting up pictures for those who are interested. I am probably going to depin the blue wire and replace it directly with another female spade whose opposing end is also a female spade terminal. I'll then proceed to connect that end to opposite side of the 4th blade fuse location that uses the 10awg black 12v wire and connect a 20a fuse in between. Again in an effort to avoid cutting up the harness. If anyone has questions feel free to chime in.
