fuel cut?
 

Is there any real harm that can come from fuel cut, and is over boosting the only real cause for fuel cut to occur. I have only experienced it once and needless to say it is a scare at the least. I beleive I was over boosting on my PFC just a tad when it happened.

any situation where you have high boost and a lack of fuel is bad.

but fuel cut was made so that ideally if your boost is that high you have no fuel to ignite the charge which isnt neccisarilly dangerous. However if their is unburnt fuel with high boost that ignites your in form a world of hurt.

So to answer your question yes harm can come from it in the for of detonation but i your engine is still running i would say your ok. just try not to do it again ;)

I seem to recall seeing something before of the fuel being cut at 8psi?? And someone saying something about they changed it to 13psi? I don't really remember... Bad memory, heh heh.... That'd be something with the EMS, would it?

So.. Would 13 be a danger area? Or just pushing it?

if fuel cut was at 8 psi we would fuel cut every time we boosted our cars ;) 13 on the stock ecu sounds more normal... if your hitting 13 on the stock ecu tho you in for a world of hurt. a different ecu can raise or eliminate your fuel cut... as can a fuel cut defender, but you better make sure you have the correct timing and fuel to compensate

Just like the term describes. Right as you approach max boost, the engine will basically "cut out" for a half-second or so, enough that you'll be thrown forward a bit in the seat. Basically the ECU telling you "back off, bonehead."

back when my car was less modded, i let my father take a couple runs down the drag strip in it. Needless to say he hit fuel cut in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. thank god nothing is wrong, but it still scared the shit out of me after he told me, "hey, why does your car feel like it just shuts down at high rpms. it happened to me in all the gears" i was like "you idiot, thats fuel cut, meaning you reved it too high. Dont you pay attention to your tach" He says "i dont use the tach, i do it all by sound"

Uhhhh, maybe what I said applied to FCs? I dunno, I just recall seeing it somewhere. Maybe I saw that it was doing it at 13 and they changed it to 18? *shrug*

I get fuel cut using 7psi but only when i run through the first 2 gears at full throttle. Once i hit 3rd i get fuel cut. I put the blame on my stock ecu. If you guys know something that could cause this let me know.
